Dr. Walter Bradley speaking at SPE Automotive Conference in Detroit
Dr. Bradley will present a paper at the Society for Plastic Engineers Automotive Composites Conference and Exposition this September in Detroit. The paper is entitled “Bio and Natural Fiber Composities: More sustainable Non-woven fabric composites made from coir [coconut] fibers for Automotive and Building Contstruction”. Whole Tree is pleased to report we have received a NSF SBIR Phase 2 research grant for $500,000 to do technical analysis for the benefit of supply chain research and development. Dr. Bradley comments, “Some of this research, to our knowledge, has never been done and we are excited to lead the way in this technical analysis. This grant confirms both our growing expertise and confirms yet again the focus and targeted leadership of the National Science Foundation in paving the way for US based commercialization efforts.”

Whole Tree was excited to speak at the 44th Asian and Pacific Coconut Community APCC Cocotech meeting and Coconut Festival in July 2010 at Samui Island, Thailand. As stated on their website…“The APCC has 17 coconut producing member countries accounting for over 90% of world coconut production and exports of coconut products.” Mr Stanton Greer spoke on Nonwoven composites made from coir fiber.
